Marya Krogstad (b. Korea) is a San Francisco-based artist working primarily in sculpture, installation, film, and video. Krogstad was an artist in residence at the Lucid Art Foundation (2016), Kala Art Institute (2014) and an affiliate artist at the Headlands Center for the Arts (2011-2014). She received her M.F.A. in 2009 from the San Francisco Art Institute and exhibits nationally and internationally.
For one cannot even really see one's own exterior and comprehend it as a whole, and no mirrors or photographs can help; our real exterior can be seen and understood only by other people, because they are located outside us in space and because they are others.
